With all the closures due to the coronavirus pandemic, we have lost physical access to libraries as well as chain and local bookstores. Our access may be diminished, but our need for entertainment—or if we can’t be entertained, at least some kind of distraction—has wildly increased.
Do we, the storytellers, have a responsibility to warn our audience about subject matter that could cause that kind of distress? That’s right. I’m talking about trigger warnings.
Why does everything someone writes have to be entirely original anyway? Writing is fun and it’s a craft one must practice to master.
