Based locally in cozy Battle Ground, Washington, Pediment Publishing is a family owned and operated book publisher. We create hardcover, heirloom-quality coffee-table books that are made to be treasured and shared. Founded by Brad and Wendy Fenison, Pediment has been in the book publishing game for over twenty years. Their two children, Chris Fenison and Ashley Ainley, are now at the helm and personally involved in the development of each project.
With the support of a small, talented staff, Pediment works with communities all over the country to create commemorative sports books, cookbooks, pictorial history books, and other unique book projects. Our most recently published sports book, “E-A-G-L-E-S! The Team that Finally Gave Philly its Super Ending,” highlights the Super Bowl–winning season of the Philadelphia Eagles.
Our pictorial history books are unique in that we work with communities at a local level, inviting residents to come in, tell their family stories, and bring their own photos to be scanned at high resolution for inclusion in the book. We also work with local historical societies, libraries, and museums to select the most beautiful, high-quality images to best tell the story of each community.
For the past two years, we have been working with The Oregonian on a pictorial history series right here in the Rose City, Portland Memories I: The Early Years and Portland Memories II: The 1940s. The tradition will continue this summer as we reach out to Portlanders everywhere and invite them to share their photos of Portland in the 1950s. Keep an eye on The Oregonian, check in at Pediment.com, or come visit our table at Write to Publish for more info about this exciting local history project!

BACKWORDS Press aims to increase the exposure of poetry & prose by taking it off the page and printing it on the backs of t-shirts. Medium changes the conversation. BACKWORDS Press encourages the belief that art should be valued, supported, and experienced in a life well lived. To foster a creative economy that thrives, people should support poets and writers in a conscientious way while also possessing a material object (distinct from a book or traditional journal) that can have a life of its own. This is writing you wear.
The Blog – www.backwordsblog.com
BACKWORDS Press’ blog explores the intersection between presence and history. The blog is a platform that honors the moment of encounter that any one person experiences—with art, literature, music, performance, or place. Often, reflections fit multiple categories—the opposite of a news program or style blog, BACKWORDS is not preoccupied with immediacy. An event does not need to be current to be relevant, nor does a memory need to be close to its origins to hold its potency.
