Abbey Gaterud teaches Introduction to Book Publishing, Design and Production, Publishing Software, and Publishing Studio and Lab and is graduate of the Portland State University with a MS in Book Publishing. She has a BA in English from Lewis & Clark College. Abbey has experience in design and production management, non-profit fundraising, and freelance book design. Charles Seluzicki teaches Archeology of the Book. He earned his MLA from Johns Hopkins University in 1975. He is an antiquarian bookseller specializing in poetry and fine press printing. For thirty years he has commissioned and published numerous fine press editions of contemporary poetry and prose.

John Henley teaches Bookselling. John is a noted antiquarian bookseller specializing in Western Americana. He has worked in all areas of bookselling, from retail management to new, used, and antiquarian sales. John is also an author of novel-length fiction. He is currently manager of the Great Northwest Bookstore in Portland.

Kent Watson teaches Book Marketing and Promotion and has seventeen years of highly successful global experience in the trade, textbook, periodical, and distribution businesses. He began his career at the Tattered Cover Bookstore as the newsstand buyer. From there, he joined Ingram Periodicals as Field Sales Manager covering international and national key accounts. Kent then went on to join notable publishing houses Houghton Mifflin and Timber Press (now a division of Workman). Kent also propelled the launch of Academic Internet Publishers, Inc., a venture e-commerce start-up for the higher education market. Kent’s broad expertise in sales and marketing has driven the prosperity of the aforementioned organizations. His unique background covers all aspects of the book industry: publishing, wholesale, retail, libraries, and academic institutions. In 2006 Kent joined the board of Ooligan Press and also joined Publishers Association of the West, which is the premier professional development association for independent publishers. In 2007 he spearheaded their membership drive, doubling their ad sales for the association directory. Kent is now the Executive Director of Publishers Association of the West.

Linda M. Meyer teaches Book Editing. She is the editorial director (and a cofounder) of Ink & Paper Group, as well as publisher of its literary imprint, Three Muses Press. Linda is a graduate of Portland State University with a MS in Book Publishing. She is also a frequent guest speaker who presents workshops on a variety of publishing-related topics.

Marty Brown teaches Publishing Management and Online Marketing. She has enjoyed a long and varied career in newspapers, commercial printing, and book publishing. She worked for Timber Press for many years, most recently as Chief Operating Officer and Marketing Director. She is now the proprietor of Letterary Press, a boutique letterpress shop. Michelle Roehm McCann teaches Publishing for Young Adults and Publishing for Juveniles and Children’s Book Publishing. She is an award-winning children’s book author and has worked as a children’s book editor/art director for sixteen years. Michelle currently works for several Northwest publishers including Graphic Arts Center Publishing, Sasquatch Books, and Beyond Words Publishing, where she founded the children’s book division in 1995. Michelle received her BA from Brown University and an MFA in Writing for Children from Vermont College.

Vinnie Kinsella teaches Book Editing and Copyediting and is a graduate of Portland State University with a MS in Book Publishing. Over the years, Vinnie has been contracted by a number of writers, businesses, and non-profit organizations in need of his professional experience. He has worked closely with authors whose writings range in style from historical fiction to theological discourse.
