    Write to Publish

    Write to Publish

Write to Publish began as a fundraiser and open house to inform the public about the publishing program at Portland State University and the nonprofit press, Ooligan, at the heart of the program. In 2009, Write to Publish grew into a conference with the goal of demystifying the publishing industry for emerging writers. Each year, Write to Publish provides writers’ workshops, panels, and speeches hosted by authors and industry professionals. These events offer emerging writers information about the state of the publishing industry and advise them on how to navigate it successfully.

    Transmit Culture

Transmit Culture (TC) is an ongoing series of lectures and conversations intended to illuminate the ever changing and fascinating publishing industry. This series was created to provide the community and PSU Writing and Publishing students with an opportunity to network and learn from leading publishing professionals. It features a flexible format that starts with a Q&A between two professionals, lecture, or panel discussion, and concludes with questions from the audience. If you’re interested, you can find out more about upcoming and past Transmit Culture events.

If you are looking for a calendar of literary events in Portland, Swamp, produced by members of the Portland State University MFA program, is a useful resource.
